Description
The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.
We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Nurse Shift Program Supervisor. This position will supervise all nursing services and personnel of a specific unit. Must have an active, unrestricted/probated status as a Registered Nurse on the KBN licensure verification.
Skill and expectations for this position include but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervises nursing services for an assigned unit.
  • Determines the level of nursing care to ensure resident care needs.
  • Documents employee evaluations, develops work assignments, monitors staffing levels and delegates responsibilities to other levels of nursing staff.
  • Supervises professional and ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $15.09 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: (See Special Requirements)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have three years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE

Working Conditions

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
